It is a good car, when compared to other cars.

But when compared to Lexus itself, this particular generation of IS's have less than stellar reviews from both users, and reviewers. Most complaints come from the low quality interior components which are not so nicely assembled across the dashboard. Compared to GM, its a whole lot better, but when compared against Lexus and Toyota, the quality is a couple of notches below.

The ride is also less refined, when compared once again, to Lexus and Toyota.

But what makes up for the less than stellar quality and unrefined ride, is the price-value factor of the car, It is quite a bit cheaper than BMW and Mercedes whilst offering a sporty fast car(although it will still be slower).

But comparing disadvantages against advantages, the advantages outweigh.

I've had my Leuxs IS300 for about a year and a half and I've put about 30,000 miles on it already. I've always been into cars and the first thing that caught my eye was the racing style of the car with the clear Euro backlights and 17-inch rims. After doing some research on it, I traded in my Saturn 3door coupe for the IS300. The asking price for the car was $34,000

lexus is as reliable as toyota, and most of the "old" cars on the road today are toyota's. If you prefer sporty cars, then its a good choice. however keep in mind its not so powerful

Absolutely!

They handle great, they have a classic style, and they last forever. They were built very well from the Factory.

The Backseat doesn't have a lot of room. It's really more of a 2+2.

But if you want something fun to drive, you can't go wrong with it.
